The kidney donation coordination crew is entering my name in the kidney donation matching system today (Friday, November 24) ! What this means is that the computer will look for a recipient for my kidney, and then I’ll know the date of the surgery. The date range is (still) December 18 2023 through January 8, 2024. I’ll get notified about 2 to 2.5 weeks before the donation. When I know the date, I will send an email to this list!

The most amazing thing so far about my kidney donation is I have had meaningful conversations with strangers, family, friends, and many others about generosity, care, how we relate community, and what makes a meaningful life. I’m grateful for these conversations and I encourage you to talk to me — or each other — about how you relate to my kidney donation.
